The pie charts below show the percentage of energy production from different sources in a country in 1995 and 2005.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of energy production from five different sources—coal, gas, petro, nuclear, and other—in a country in 1995 and 2005.

Overall, coal and gas remained the dominant sources of energy in both years, while petro saw a significant decline. In contrast, nuclear and other energy sources increased their shares over the ten-year period.

In 1995, coal accounted for the largest share of energy production at 29.8%, followed closely by gas (29.63%) and petro (29.27%). Meanwhile, nuclear power and other sources contributed much smaller proportions, at 6.4% and 4.9% respectively.

By 2005, the proportion of energy generated from coal and gas had risen slightly, with coal increasing to 30.93% and gas to 30.31%. In contrast, petro dropped significantly to 19.55%. On the other hand, nuclear power saw a notable rise to 10.1%, while energy from other sources nearly doubled, reaching 9.1%.

In summary, while coal and gas remained the primary energy sources, there was a shift towards nuclear and alternative energy, with a sharp decline in petro usage over the period.
