Environmental protection should be the responsibility of politicians, not individuals as individuals can do too little. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 

It is considered that only statements have the power to tackle environmental problems that are posing serious threats to today’s world. From my perspective, protecting the earth is the responsibility of both politicians and individuals. 

To begin with, some environmental issues are too immense for citizens to deal with. Regarding some serious problems, such as global warming, extreme weather events, prolonged droughts, or violent storms, to be effectively addressed, it requires the efforts and cooperations of governments and environmental organizations. This is due to the fact that solving these problems needs state-of-the-art/cutting-edge technological devices and large numbers of experienced scientists in their field to work together. In addition, politicians would be charge of introducing and enacting new laws to punish those who are damaging the environment. For example, those who are burning the forests or hunting wildlife species for their own purposes illegally, governments and organizations should have strict punishments for them to minimize the rate of environmental degradation. 

On the other hand, I believe that individuals who are devoting themselves to daily activities could also contribute to protecting the environment. The first one is people can help in different ways such as recycling items, using solar energy in their homes to decrease greenhouse gas emissions, or planting more trees around their places to reduce air pollution. In addition, individuals can offer themselves a chance to participate in voluntary work to help protect the environment. For instance, in Vietnam, many students who are studying at their school often participate in volunteer clubs and spend their free time in summer holidays going to the rivers or beaches, they assist in cleaning that place by collecting all the trash from tourists or residents. 

In conclusion, for these reasons mentioned above, I believe that environmental protection is the obligation of both politicians and individuals to reduce environmental damage. It can be predicted that the earth where we are living may have fewer environmental problems in the future.
